PaceMate

Community Guidelines

Last updated 23 October 2026

PaceMate works because people show up for each other. These guidelines set the standard. Breaking them can get content removed or an account closed.

Be yourself

Use your real name, be 18 or older, and keep to one account. Be honest in your profile.

Stay safe

When you are meeting people for the first time, choose busy public places and daylight where you can, and tell a friend where you are going.

You never have to go, and you can leave any session at any time if something does not feel right.

In an emergency, call 000.

Respect everyone

No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or discrimination.

No sexual content or unwanted advances. PaceMate is for training together, not dating.

Respect privacy. Do not share other people's details or photos without their permission, and never use session details to follow or contact someone who does not want it.

Host well

Describe your distance, pace and terrain honestly. If you say no-drop, nobody gets left behind.

Pick a clear, public meeting point, keep the group safe around traffic and water, and cancel as early as you can if plans change.

Be reliable

If you cannot make it, leave the session so someone on the waitlist gets your place.

Keep it genuine

No spam, advertising, selling, recruiting or fake sessions. Coaches and businesses need our permission before promoting paid services.

Reporting and blocking

If someone or something breaks these guidelines, report it: tap the three dots on a session, or press and hold a message or a person. Reports are private and the person is not told who reported them.

Reports go to PaceMate, and we may act on them at our discretion. Blocking someone hides you from each other straight away.

What happens if the guidelines are broken

Depending on what happened, we may give a warning, remove content, suspend or permanently close an account, and where necessary, involve the police.
